Even touching the .minecraft folder is unnecessary as our launcher doesn't even use that folder for anything other than sharing the texturepacks folder.
Manually removing the bin folder is unnecessary too being as we offer the "Clear Cache" button under the launcher options.
The "Allow clipboard access" is a personal preference, and has nothing to do with the whitescreen.
Using the latest LWJGL binaries is not recommended either unless you are having issues related to rendering.
The only reason you should be using dev builds right now is because there are no recommended builds of Spoutcraft for 1.0.0 yet. Generally you should stick to using the "Latest recommended builds" option.
Generally the whitescreen should not occur anymore as the main reason for it before was the launcher trying to patch an older build of Spoutcraft to a newer, unsupported Minecraft.jar. This isn't the case anymore as builds are associated to specific Minecraft versions and the launcher patches to that Minecraft version as needed.
In the rare event that you do get a whitescreen using our launcher now, you are either using an outdated launcher jar or there is a bug that needs to be fixed. In this case, I recommend reporting the error on http://spout.in/issues along with the appropriate log from .spoutcraft/logs.
Also, the client is called Spoutcraft, not Spout. Spout is the server plugin.
We're updating the server to be-able to use spout!
YOU DON'T NEED SPOUT BUT YOU SHOULD INSTALL IT TO USE SERVER FEATURES!
First I'm going to show you how to install spout normally. If you run into any "White screen" issues on launch I will show you how to fix that.
DID YOUR GAME LAUNCH?
WAS IT A WHITE SCREEN?
Follow these steps below!

When I clear the cache the spout locks up and I have to ctrl alt del to get out of it.
This worked perfect.
please help soon
That means you have something still using it, likely a java process in the background. :wink.gif:
Open task manager and kill it and then try again.
Would need more details, as you likely have another issue such as AVG blocking downloads through Java like it likes to do.
