I have a dual zombie and skeleton farm on my server but no villages nearby. Is there a way to easily and automatically sort zombie villagers from the spawner on demand (as in I can toggle it on/off)? I know Etho did this a long time ago in his LP but (1) it's really complicated, and (2) a lot of mob AI changes have been made since then. I'm keen on making one as simple and cheaply as possible.
Really hand sorting is the only way. Even ethos fancy water stream system really boiled down to hand separation.
Just extract the zombies from the spawner into some area say behind a fence. then kill non villager zombies, and then put them in minecarts so you can keep them separate rom each other. Once you have two cure them, and move them to your villager breeder (what ever system you have for that.

And is a quick tutorial on how to catch and cure zombie villagers. Skip to 3:28 (already cued up in the link) to see the simple setup he uses to "sort" the villager zombie from the rest. Basically just disposing of the regular zombies until a villager one comes along:

Maybe try and use a system that sorts zombies into small groups once in the groups you can check for villagers then if there are not then press a switch thats kills them if is there are then you hit a switch that throws a potion of weakness and also give you a golden apple as to not let the zombies harm your villager make sure to have a villager nearby to which they can be attracted to! In the water canal, instead of putting two signs and adding the water source above the lower one, I put only the lower sign and the water source beside it. The mobs will then stand there on the sign till the next one comes and pushes him to keep going on the water canal.
What I did was add a piston beneath this sign, then everytime I activate it the mob standing on top of it will fall in another water canal that leads into another chamber. The original water canal keep on going into a regular xp farm as usual.
