I would use paint and make a rectangle that matches the width and 2 X height of those beams on the scale of the build. Then use the circle tool starting in the upper left hand corner drag down to bottom right. The upper half will be your patter for the curve. You will need two patterns, one for the inner legs of the beam and one for the outer legs.
The beams are probably close to half ellipses from looks of them; this won't be 100% accurate as the beams are offset either side of the centre, but if you know the inner/outer diameter of the large circle and the height of the beam at the centre, using the Ellipse tool at http://www.plotz.co.uk/ you can create a full ellipse using the inner diameter as one variable and the height of the beam doubled as the other variable, and use the 2D view will give you the profile. Repeat for the other beam using the outer diameter instead of the inner.
Edit: if you know the offset of the beams from the centre, you could use the Ellipsoid tool, same variables as before, but you can then select the depth slider, set it to the middle (which should be as the 2D Ellipse above) then offset the slider by the offset of the beams (either direction don't matter)
if you're ok with using mods and you're ok with version earlier than 1.8, there is something called "openblocks". check it out on youtube. it has a building assistant block that will spawn ghost blocks in a shape you prefer (including ellipses). you just place glass or iron bars where the ghost blocks are.
if you insist on 1.8, you can still open the world in a modded old version, use open blocks to place dirt or whatever in appropriate shapes, than load it up in 1.8 and get working with glass.
so I'm currently making this my survival base but I'm trying to figure out how to build these beams what blocks and pattern looking for advice
the whole build beams in the next picture
Try black stained glass since theese things appear to be transparent. Cyan Hardened Clay also could be a good bet.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..

Mintutor now works in 1.13!
MrKite & Mc_Etlam ... I salute you!
