So I found a Woodland Mansion near one of my bases, but unfortunately when I went and found it it seems a single block of lava generated right underneath it had started a little bit of a light show!
I'm trying to figure out if there's a way for me to restore this specific region to default settings and in turn, restore the mansion itself. This is on a multiplayer server (I'm the admin).
I was doing some digging around and thought that if I deleted that region mxa file it would restore by creating a new one but I suspect that this new file was restored from the server auto-save function and as such, the burned down Mansion was still there.
Can anyone help? I'd prefer not to use something like MCEdit or re-building it by hand if I can help it.
I can't give any specific advice but it seems that there must be some way to delete the region from the backup as well so that it gets freshly generated.
I deleted the region file from the region folder but it doesn't seem to have done anything. I have to work it what I'm missing, hence my reach for help

Are you sure you deleted the correct region file?
If you have the ability to download and edit the world save you could use MCA Selector to delete regions or individual chunks. However, the lava will still be there, so I'm not sure how that will help (it will just catch on fire again when the chunk loads). I suppose you could temporarily disable fire spread while you locate and remove the lava.

Good point.
But they could /tp directly there and have a chance to put out the fire and remove the lava.

Just testing.
