Hello, I have recently started a new survival world using the customized world type. I have changed the biome option to 'Forest' to make a world where only forest biome and variants generate. In this way I can focus on building without having to travel a thousand blocks to find a spot that I like, obviously there are a lot of resources that I won't have access to
This is the preset I'm using, I've also changed up the generation a little bit
I was planning to change world with a different biome after I will have built anything I want, but then a question came to my mind: Should I copy-paste my character's file every time I change world so that I will have access to every resource? For example, if I want to build something with acacia wood in the forest world I will have to create a savanna world and transfer it from there. Or if I want to build something in an ocean monument I will have to create an only ocean world with no trees, no animals, no way to survive. If I copy-paste my character I can keep all the items I need.
What do you think about it? Am I the only one who did a similar survival 'challenge'?
Have you considered Mods? WorldEdit-Forge (and I think McEdit, not proficient with that one) allow you to create a snapshot of your completed creation. You can then paste it anywhere on any world you please.
WE also allows you to change the biome if you desire. Please understand changing the biome only changes the weather and any mobs that frequent it (blocks already created will not change).
My home consists of a 62 (NS) x 63 (EW) hole dug down to Y=46. The surrounding blocks above and around are water (Y=63 to Y=47).
