Didn’t you ever wonder where inventory editors got all their blocks?

do not get a alienware, they are over priced crappy pc's. I got a HP with 8GB ram, 1TB harddrive, quadcore (2.8 ea), and a 512mb graphics card (upgrading to a 2gb and a 600 watt power supply in may) for under 1k.
-do not settle until you have searched absoloutley everywhere, you will regret it later if you stop looking too soon (i sure do, and it got me this peice of crap im typing with now :/)
-do not get anything that is intergrated, you'll want to upgrade your hardware every now and then, so it best to be able to.
-if you dont mind the extra effort and saving a bit of money, you can try and build your own PC, then you can choose whatever you like inside of your machine, newegg.com is a good place to get peices from.
theres my 2 pennyies (im british, cents are no good to me :tongue.gif:)

NewEgg + Tiger Direct + Learn2computer = Build your own for cheap.
Quoted for major truth.
I built my own computer several years ago, and have been upgrading it occasionally ever since. You can build a great compy for about $800 if you buy your own parts
First, a very quick processor. 3.0 gigahertz or more should be perfect. (Be aware a 3.0ghz dual core processor is two 1.5ghz processors)
A decent amount of RAM - 6-8 GB is plenty. preferably DDR3 type.
One of the newer Radeon Graphics cards will run anything you like.
The rest of the system can be built however you desire. ( A big fan or a water cooling system is a must)
You obviously know nothing about processors, if you think 3.0 ghz dual core is two 1.5 ghz processors.
Anyways what I would aim for is
AM3/AM3+ (when it's released) Motherboard that supports DDR3 Ram.
-search around to find one that fits you
At least a dual core, preferably a BE so you can have unlockable cores and multipliers http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819103846
For minecraft, most graphics cards will be fine, I think a 5750 would be good enough or something like a GTS250 if you choose Nvidia. If you want to play other games, something like a 5770 is good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product
For RAM you just want 4gb of DDR3, Mushkin is good, also I use OCZ and it has held up well. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product
PSU, you just want something that can handle all your current voltage and more to come.
-search around based on your needs
Cases and fans are really based on preference. A high end case will basically be a low end case with better materials and prettier lights.

I'm sorry to say this, but since you like desktops so much, why don't you build one like everyone else that likes desktops :smile.gif: Like me :smile.gif:

You got ripped wolfgang. Unless you bought that a couple years ago.
To the poster saying to get alienware. Never buy an alienware computer. Anyways his budget was $500-700. Alienware's are $2000 and up. I just took the time to built an almost identical Pc and it was $1700, when the Alienware counterpart was $2500.

Intel I7 960
Asus P6X58D
6GB Kingston DDR3 RAM at 1600MHz
Seagate 1TB 7200RMP HD
Intel X25-M SATA 80GB SSD (Load times? what are load times?)
2X GTX570 cards with 1GB video memory each
Antec Truepower Quattro 1000W
Coolermaster HAFX case
= Minecraft 1.5 @ 200+ FPS, all settings Max
Ran me $2600 CAD. That's including a $116 mouse and a $125 keyboard. And 5% GST
*Oh, and never buy Alienware. Just priced out an alienware computer with the same hardware for $4,149.00 USD, so about $4050CAD.
I got mine from newegg. Cyberpowerpc is good too.
I don't know all the specs but here's the ones I know.
Quad-Core processor 2.8GHz
4GB RAM
1 Terrabyte of space.
It can run Minecraft all settings max at average 100fps.
My friend has a Phenom II x4 and an HD5770 and he gets constant 150+.

not overkill at all
btw you dont need anymore than 4 gigs of ram unless you do some 3d rendering :wink.gif:
The ironic part is I'm having some sort of issue with Java that causes Minecraft to crash after a few minutes, so I have to use my laptop to play Minecraft for any amount of time.
And I do some 3D rendering, and develop computer games in my spare time (I'm certainly no notch though). In fact I intend to upgrade to 12GB of ram.

but when you overkill it you can brag to people on the internet about it!!!
Yes, but I wanted to demonstrate that computer prices are becoming more reasonable. You should be able to buy a computer capable of running minecraft at 30fps+ for under $800CAD
i know you said you want a premade one, but my unlce had an old clio computer( correct me if its not called clio) that he made and he gave it to my cousin. The computer only cost 1000 bucks and it works great on fancy and far.
Thanks! Sorry if this isn't the right topic/forum area!

You can have an older, halfway decent one.
As long as you have a good graphics card, Minecraft shouldn't give you much trouble.
(It also doesn't hurt to have at least 2.0 GB Ram)
