It isn't being added..the "side-grass" fix is fixing the different colored grass well on the side of the block. In case you were thinking that was this.
Also the reason some people like it is as it makes the world look smoother. I'm not too fond of it myself but ehh. I can see how people would want it.

I don't think that would have take too much effort. It helps visual learners too :tongue.gif:
Also the thing is minecraft doesn't really have smooth hills like that cause it's all blocks. Therefore it should look like that as every new-level is a ledge. Kinda....tbh I don't care if other people like it or not. Everyone has their own opinion.

I remember when I used Bettergrass mod. Smooth, low hills looked actually nice.
I LOVE the better grass mods :tongue.gif: It makes the terrain look smooth, and normal, but without going overboard and having weird cliff sides of grass.

[quote=Kasudain]Well, all major religions have a 'Hell' with flying jellyfish that throw fireballs. Duh.
I don't, having the sides be nearly bare helps to give the hills a lot of depth and it's easier to differentiate from level to level, full sidegrass is too uniform, in my opinion.

For the sweet love of god, I am on my knees praying to heaven that this is a troll.
Because I think areas like this (which appear frequently) look awful. I'd much rather have the default block edges than this.
That's a good point. I'm the guy currently maintaining the mod, and I used to feel the same way you do now. I didn't feel BetterGrass was for me, but it grew on me after having it installed for a while. It's an aesthetics thing, and even though I like it, I don't think it should be added to the game.

That's what I thought, but Smooth Lighting really helps to establish the depth that this mod would normally remove from grass and hills in the distance.

Was that on purpose? If it was... Well played, sir.

OT: I don't really like Smooth Lighting all that much because it makes areas that were only a little dark in my base before, VERY dark, and adding more lighting doesn't really help unless it's right there, which isn't usually an option in my base.

That looks great! I have always loved the Better Grass mod! Adding the Smooth lighting is even better.
I guess it is 'n matter of personal taste, and if added to the core game should be made toggleable.
Also: since the side grass not conforming to the biome colours, using Better Grass and an all dirt side for grass blocks has been a good temp solution, but with the side grass fixed in 1.5 Better grass might become less popular?
But the grass sides update doesn't have anything to do with this, it's just fixing the color so that the grass on the side of a grass block is the same color as on the top.
Why do you want the sides of the grass blocks to be green, like the top of grass?
In my opinion it looks really, really bad as if the land was covered in wool instead of dirt.
I really hope this does not get added to the game as it will ruin the look so much. :sad.gif:

Did you actually put in effort to make that pic, just to prove your point?
