I tried to build a gold farm on a new world. I have made this build many times on previous worlds but now the water just doesn't work. First, when I skipped a space and added my second bucket of water it just left the space - no water source block. The 2 streams merged a few blocks away from the wall and everywhere else between the wall and the hole in the middle where the 2 streams merged DID become source blocks - which means no current to carry the mobs to the drop off.
I have filled it in with sand and redone it over and over with the same results. I finally gave up and just carried a dozen full buckets. Well, then when I finally got current flow through most of the base the water didn't stop after 8 spaces. I filled it all in with sand and started over again - same results. I tried increasing the distance from the wall to no avail - because it was creating source block in the middle the water would just go right over the edge. I finally gave up and left it that way - so now instead of falling to their death they just drown - which means I have to listen to the annoying sound of pigmen squealing every time I am anywhere near the farm.
What the heck did they do and is there any fix coming?
I dread building my iron golem farm as i use a lave blade to kill them - and it won't work if water is spilling over the edge.
