My PC happened to crash while i was trying to play the latest Snapshot and now when i try to launch Minecraft with the snapshot, the main menu screen along with everything else is Purple and black pixels. I am not sure what I did but i've tried re-installing the snapshot but no luck. The latest official version works fine, but any snapshot, old or new, is now texture broken. Any advise? Will i need to reinstall Minecraft all together?
Did you try deleting options.txt? It may have become corrupted when the game crashed and it is trying to load a nonexistent resource pack or some setting was set to an invalid value (Mojang is notorious for not adding checks to the code that reads options.txt; it should ignore an invalid resource pack but who knows since the snapshots are quite buggy, being developmental versions and all); otherwise, I can't think of anything else since all the textures that the game uses are inside the Minecraft jar file, and if that were corrupted (or any other game files) the launcher would redownload them (you can't even mod the game without taking multiple measures to stop the launcher from redownloading a clean jar, and because of this I would never think of reinstalling to fix anything other than an issue with the launcher itself).

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
