Recently I purchased an aspire e 5 as an upgrade for school and gaming, it worked great until about two weeks ago. I opened mc and the buttons on the launch menu were responding 5-6 seconds slow. I opened a world and found that mc was running at 1-2 fps. I've already solved for any memory leaks, made sure my drives were up to date, uninstalled and reinstalled java and mc, prioritized java, allocated more ram, and lowered my graphics. I've no idea what's wrong at this point and was wondering if someone could help. I'd like to point out that my laptop was running mc at 50-55 fps before this and that I've had the same issue across all versions of mc modded or vanilla.
Well, one problem is that your CPU is slower than Minecraft requires.
You need at least an Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 (K8) 2.6 GHz
Now you having a slow processor will slow your local worlds down. It shouldn't cause you to have FPS rates that make it unplayable.
Do this: Go into your world, press F3 (Some computers, especially laptops, require you to press the FN key at the same time), take a screenshot, and post it to this thread.

To clarify I WAS getting 50-55 fps two weeks ago, which is pretty nice in my opinion, but now I get >0-2. Also, I've linked the screenshot in the original post.

I don't know what the problem could be then. I have a computer running Windows 7 with very old hardware that can run the game better than that. (It only get's like 10 FPS, but still. the only reason it is in our house at all is because it is a school computer lol)
Now, I don't know every detail about computers, but I try to help out when I can. But as far as I can see, there is no sign that anything is wrong with your computer (other than the low FPS thing, of course!). I hope you can get it figured out
And yes, for your hardware, 50 FPS is actually pretty good, but you might get much better with a better and faster CPU.
But if that doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you
If you don't know how to do that, follow these steps. If you know how to already, ignore the contents of this spoiler:
1. Click the Start menu
2. search for "%appdata%" (inside the quotes)
3. All of your worlds, resource packs, etc. are in the .minecraft folder. If you have worlds you want to save, drag the save folder out of the .minecraft folder, then delete the .minecraft folder
4.When you start the game from the launcher, a new .minecraft folder will be created on it's own.
Technically this doesn't "uninstall" the game, it just removes the libraries and textures and stuff. You can fully uninstall it from the control panel if you need to

My specs are in the pic below.
Post a screenshot with F3 enabled and your JVM arguments.

Okay, I've gone ahead and posted a screenshot in the original post. Mind you, it's on low graphic
settings and not in full screen mode
turn on vsync, also what is your view distance set at? I would suggest setting it to maybe around 5-7

It almost seems like something on your computer is maybe eating your ram.
Have you checked your task manager?
Yes, I have.
That's what I keep it at.
See point 4 here https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/unmodified-minecraft-client/2827415-1-12-faqs-read-before-posting
Drivers are updated and vbo and vsync are on

At this point in time, I would almost suggest deleting the game all together and starting with a fresh download.
I have never seen such a low FPS unless the world is currently loading around you
Duh, I can't believe I forgot about that!

I've already done this, and to no avail at that.
Set the computer on fire and collect the insurance?
Im completely stumped on the matter
