I am able to access any server without issue with my laptop, however my desktop connected to my router by an ethernet cable will not access any server whatsoever. Also notably is the fact that my Desktop won't connect to any .com or .org type servers such as us.mineplex.com. I have tried many supposed fixes such as adding inbound and outbound rules to my firewall, ie. TCP and UDP with ports set as 25565, to no avail. My Desktop will occasionally connect to only certain servers that are traditional numbered ips with the ports included. It hasn't been able to connect to servers for some time, ever since my friend attempted to make a server on my desktop, however I removed the port forwarding to my knowledge. It also should be noted that it is not a server side issue because I am able to access the same server at the same time on my laptop if my Desktop won't. When using my Desktop at another location and another router it still would not connect to any server. This makes my believe that it is not a firewall or connection issue, but an internal problem. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them.
Funny. Of course I have logged out and back in before. I think I would have tried that by now including reinstalling the game.
Unless you don't want help, I suggest not acting like this. Even though you might think the advice was stupid, he was just trying to help. Also a relog could fix a issue with not being able to connect to servers, although I doubt it is the case here.
Now what is the actual error you get when you try to join a server. Also can you connect to mctest.ae97.net?
Yeah, I wouldn't be acting like this, but I am desperate here. So when I type in the server IP it says "no connection" and when I attempt to log on it says "Timed out". I did notice when browsing that I have no connection for IPV6. I don't know if that means anything but its something I just noticed.

Have you been using mcleaks? Also what antivirus do you use?
Okay, but how does that explain how my laptop with norton works but my desktop won't? I will definitely think about trying that solution, however I just have a few questions first.

I use Norton Antivirus and I don't use mcleaks to my knowledge. What by chance is mcleaks?
I looked at norton and it looked like it was allowing minecraft to run normally to my knowledge, but I'm willing to try anything you think would work.
Do you think my IPV6 no internet access has anything to do with it? Do the .org or .com servers run through IPV6?

You would be surprised how many people don't.

Yeah, but considering the fact that I said this has been going on for six years I am pretty sure I logged out by then.
Oops, Well I didn't say that did I, but it has
