I have a private server for my friends and I, and we played in the server today.... after a short time something happened and I closed it and re-opened it.
when I re-opened it the server didn't want to show up as "online" even thou the batch(cmd) file said its running just fine.
I changed the ip address to 127.0.0.1 to see if the server has any trouble of turning on, and it worked just fine.
changed it back to my IPv4 address and it didn't show up but was running,
then I changed it to my Public address cause' I told myself "maybe that's the problem?" and the server didn't want to turn on at all.
So I checked my ports, and they are fine, I re-installed java, and its just fine.
I think I did everything and the server still won't show up as "online" on my IP anymore (even thou it was a few hours ago!)
Does ANYONE know what's the problem and how to fix it?
your public ip won't work because you are inside the network, you connect to either the hosting machines local ip (if playing on different computer in same house) or LOCALHOST (127.0.0.1 is the same thing)
people outside of your house connect via the public ip
It doesn't matter mate. You connect with localhost, your friends with your public IP, what difference would it make?
Well, the problem is solved but now I have a different problem... the server after X amount of chunks won't load ANY chunks anymore... even previous generated ones.... do you know why?

the server-ip= line in server.properties should be blank
and where are you talking about it showing online?
minecraft multiplayer is not able to get a connection to the server, even thou its running and worked earlier..
how are you trying to join the server? are you playing and hosting on the same machine, or different machines?
Same machine, different machine.
it won't appear.
I tried with 3 different ips.
my public ip (like it always was)
my public ip:25565
127.0.0.1
and only the 127.0.0.1 works.
even when I put the server-ip blank / with ipv4
your public ip won't work because you are inside the network, you connect to either the hosting machines local ip (if playing on different computer in same house) or LOCALHOST (127.0.0.1 is the same thing)
people outside of your house connect via the public ip
1. why did it work before, I could connect via my no-ip address / public ip / ipv4.
2. why now I can't?

The server Won't load past a certain point
