I downloaded everything from my Minecraft server before the hosting provider migrated the server. I downloaded all the config files and the world folders (Paper Spigot 1.13.2). After putting all the files back and starting the server again, my character is in the correct location and has a filled inventory, but the terrain / chunks / blocks are generated new / from scratch. So all the buildings are gone etc.
I checked the world folder and it has the .dat files and .mca region files. What is going wrong? What is maybe missing in the world backup or config files?
If anyone wants the files I can upload them. Any help is super appreciated! Kind regards,
I replied to that thread with the files as a download. I hope someone there can tell me if it can be saved or it is officially lost.
Make sure the default world name is the same, I assume it is since new stuff has generated. Make sure server is off, then upload all files. Plugin files probably dont need reuploaded. Just delete the world files and reupload the ones you downloaded before the host migrated. Try deleting the 4 .dat files in the world folder and see if that does anything.
Also, check the regions folder in the world file and see if its just a few files or if there is many and then compare it to the world you want to be in the server. See if its fully regenerating them or trying to use them but redoing the chunks.
