and if you want other people to connect from out of your local network look in you firewall settings aswell. best is to go to advanced firewall settings and add ipv4 as special rule for inbound and outbound with setting allow
cant join my own server with my public ip, it doesn't work to put ":25562" at the end of the ip either, it give me a timed out error:
It only works to connect with my local ip.
I have done all port forwarding and i do have a static ip, any idea of what could be the issue and how to solve it?
Might i have done the port forwarding wrong? i understand that its different from router to router, but these are the settings i entered:
Service name: MinecraftPort range: 25565Local ip: my local ip (static)Local port: 25565Protocol: Both (TCP & UDP)
People OUTSIDE of your network/home should join with the IP that you see at this website. https://www.whatsmyip.org/
You must ALWAYS join with localhost if its hosted off your computer. Thats just how it works. You can't use your public address.
