After some time of using my server i suddenly cant connect to it any more. i have tried using localhost and other means of connecting but the server never notices anyone connecting at all. it loads fine, but no new messages appear when someone connects, please help. Help in any way or suggestion. I NEED ANSWERS.
Even if you are doubtful that advise is will help, post it anyways all I want is suggestions on what I could do to fix.
More notes:
- Firewall is allowing it.
- I have tested multiple versions.
- All it outputs is:
[15:35:55] [Server thread/INFO]: Starting minecraft server version 1.12.2
[15:35:55] [Server thread/INFO]: Loading properties
[15:35:55] [Server thread/INFO]: Default game type: SURVIVAL
[15:35:55] [Server thread/INFO]: Generating keypair
[15:35:55] [Server thread/INFO]: Starting Minecraft server on *:25555
[15:35:55] [Server thread/INFO]: Using default channel type
[15:35:56] [Server thread/INFO]: Preparing level "world"
[15:35:56] [Server thread/INFO]: Loaded 488 advancements
[15:35:56] [Server thread/INFO]: Preparing start region for level 0
[15:35:57] [Server thread/INFO]: Preparing spawn area: 30%
[15:35:58] [Server thread/INFO]: Done (2.262s)! For help, type "help" or "?"
- Server worked before the issue and stopped working after booting 1.7.10( I mean that when I tried a different version it just stopped.
- And yes I do have multiple servers, but it worked then too. It just Stopped.
i still urge peoole to ease my pain as i want to be able to host my server but am still unable to connect. I think something change that resulted in my inability to host. If i have to make a reward, then i expect a solution.
I'm disappointed no one replied to you. If your log is correct:
[15:35:55] [Server thread/INFO]: Starting Minecraft server on *:25555
Check your server.properties - you need to bind your server to your computers LAN IP address. That line should read:
[15:35:55] [Server thread/INFO]: Starting Minecraft server on 192.168.1.X:25555
This setting can be changed in server.properties, server-ip: 192.168.1.X
Binding to Asterisk ( * ) - or Wildcard, will automatically bind to "localhost" (the word) which runs via SOCKET and not via TCP/IP (network). That's why you're having issues. Once you make that correction, you can connect via "127.0.0.1" "localhost" if the server is running on the same PC as your game. Or 192.168.1.X if it's on the network.

I have already found the issue as I have stated, and thought I had clearly shown that I have fixed it, but failed to do so. I did run into another problem, but that was quickly resolved when I had realized that I had port forwarded using the wrong type, basically a thing I forgot to change back in the time of fixing the server. Now my servers work perfectly and hope it stays that way.
Those who want an answer, make sure the computer sees the router as private or no one can connect. That was the entire problem here.
