Usually I can fix problems like this that arise myself, but these two issues I can't seem to figure out.
Now I've decided to come to the Minecraft Forums in hope of finding answers to my problems!
Thank you very much to everyone who helps me on my path to fixing my Minecraft. (: THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO PUSHED ME ON MY WAY TO FIXING MY ERRORS! ♥
Problem #1: FIXED!
Turns out I had a hidden older version of Java hiding in my computer!
Make sure that you only have the most recent version of Java on your system!
Problem #2: FIXED!
For anyone having a problem with connecting to friend's servers or your own server-
if you get the error io.netty.channel$abstractchannel- and so on..
I guess that means something is up with a current IP you're using to connect!
It should say "Press any key to continue..." What does the server say before it closes? Can you provide a screenshot? Also, make sure you portforwarded your server.

Hey there CaptainSonicYT!
Thanks for attempting to help me fix Problem #1!
The bat file information you wanted me to change worked.
I can now see what it's trying to tell me, thank you!
I don't port forward my servers by the way, I use something else. (:
I seem to be having a problem with my Java- which isn't new to me, I've had to fight with it a lot in the past.
Here is the screenshot, have any idea on what I should do next?
Can you change it back to your old bat content? (java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.1.12.jar nogui)
There was no issue with that at all.
Also, read my previous comment. You have to agree to the EULA or it will close immediately.
If it still closes, show us the server log.
Hey there Carbonawk!
I didn't reply to your first comment because I don't think you fully read my post correctly.
When you open run.bat you will recieve EULA.txt and something else I believe.
I do not recieve ANY FILES, my bat just crashes. This means I DO NOT get a EULA.
If I were to recieve a EULA.txt file and such I wouldn't be having this issue.
Changing the bat to what CaptainSonicYT suggested has at least sent me in a direction that I can work with!

I had a question for you Carbonawk, where would I find the server log?
I reset it back to the original old bat content just to see what we could do to fix this.
I really would like this fixed so I'll explore my options, but I'm not receiving any files.
NO EULA.txt to be accepted
I had another version of Java that was older on my computer.
It was hiding from me, but I uninstalled it so I can run my own server again!
BUT... NOW I CAN'T CONNECT TO MY OWN SERVER!
That's what Problem #2 is, could you please help me resolve it?
I can't connect to my own server or any of my friend's servers.. I get the error that I've provided in the main post. ):

First, you should change your bat file to this:
@echo off
java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.1.12.jar nogui
pause
It should say "Press any key to continue..." What does the server say before it closes? Can you provide a screenshot? Also, make sure you portforwarded your server.

Did you install Java? If you did, did you add it to your path?
