Well, decide what you want players to be able to do. https://www.spigotmc.org/resources has tons of plugins. You'll want world protection / anti griefing tools and a permissions management plugin and the very least. My "base pack" is Worldedit, Worldguard, the Essentials suite, PermissionsEX, Dynmap, LWC & the Multiverse suite.
I always tack on GriefPrevention to the above pack. Not only is the claims system nice, but the ability to see all the private messages and what players say on signs is just absolutely perfect from an administrative stand point. ChatEx is also needed with PeX to make the prefixes and suffixes work!
Oh yea, anti grief. I forgot that, lol. I like CoreProtect. Used to use LogBlock, but switched. ChatEx is good, but prefixes also work with EssentialsChat.
I am setting up a new server I need help getting plugins and permissions, I have not played or managed a server in many years.
this server can easily handel 400+ players once it is setup.
18 Cores (CPU)
starting with 4GB of ram with a max heap size of 60GB and can be upped to 85 if needed once the server grows.

It rhymes with braille, not drool.

I thought there was something wrong with essentials chat? I can't remember what specifically so I may be wrong on that.
