My friend and I run a server for a very small amount of people(5 of us have been on at any given time) and lately we've been experiencing frequent crashes. We were on 1.8.1Pre5 for a while and recently upgraded to 1.8.7 thinking that would fix our problem but of course it didn't. Here is a crash report we received on Pre5

However, we're also receiving the same reports on 1.8.7. I know 1.8 has been notorious for random server crashes, but this hasn't started happening until about a week and a half ago and we've been running this world since the summer. We also had a previous world on bukkit for a while before then and never experienced this. I have a feeling it is entity related but I'm not entirely sure and I'm also not great at understanding log files.
Your server is shutting down due to high amounts of lag it is a safety system built in the server to protect the files looking at your crash report it seems you have not fully configured your start up script to match your machine it only has your memory arguments configured "JVM Flags: 2 total; -Xms2G -Xmx2G" which is more likely why it is shutting down configuring your server java arguments is the same as you would your minecraft client

Even though it was running fine for the longest time? It would seem to me like it's something maybe entity related. Though I'll get that checked out for sure. I guess I should also mention, the most recent time it happened when one of our players was AFK by a skele farm and had close to 200 in the chamber. Which of course would be enough to lag most machines anyways. And that crash report was pretty much the same one.
Yes if you don't configure a server when it had to do any work it does not what resources is has to work with or how it needs to handle mobs, tile entities and loading and unloading of chunks etc

Okay. I've let me friend know since he handles all of the setup stuff(I handle in-game stuff) and I will get back to you and let you know if it worked.
