So, I'm running a 1.8, 100% vanilla, private MC server on an old computer of mine, using the MineOS (A distro of Linux Turnkey) operating system to run it.
We had a power outage yesterday, and it was too sudden for me to go and turn my computers off before it happened. Both my PC's (main one, and the server) were fine afterwards, and both started up correctly.
Buuuut, when I went to log onto my MC server today, it said that "The authentication servers are down", and in the server console it said this:
Couldn't verify username because servers are unavailable
And then this:
com.mojang.authlib.GameProfile@1955c97[id=<null>,name=Jtpetch,properties={},legacy=false] (/xx.x.x.xx:xxxxx) lost connection: Authentication servers are down. Please try again later, sorry!
And, normally, that means that either the clock on the server computer, or the client computer are wrong. So, I checked both. Both PC's times were correct. I also had a friend try to join, and the same thing happened.
So, in case of something just being screwy, i reset the time to the correct time via SSH. Restarted the server, still did it. Rebooted the computer, still did it.
I'm really at a loss here, and would any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
