I had offline mode set to true on my server. Just a personal one that only I play on. I have a full premium Minecraft account, offline mode was strictly for the internet where I live being very spotty at best. Skins worked fine before 1.8 even in offline mode. Since updating skins don't work. If I change the server to online mode then I log in, skin works and such but am a new character to the server. cant operate doors, open chests... says I don't have permission to use that command when I try console commands. All of this stuff worked fine in 1.7.x but what do I do about this now? Is there a way to changeover the old "op" power of the original offline mode to the name I use (which hasn't changed by the way).

In the world folder there are 2 entries in the player data folder so it is recognizing me as 2 separate instead of a single player. Is there a way to fix this?

you could stop the server and then remove your player data out of world folder and then you will be fine in online mode. i believe 1.8 is messing with the skin database because if your offline it bypasses the login servers and such. IF YOU ARE PLAYING IN SERVIVAL AND YOU DELETE PLAYER DATA, IT WILL DELETE YOUR INVINTORY SO EITHER BACKUP THE INVINTORIES OR TAKE A SCREENSHOT OF IT AND GO BACK INTO CREATIVE TO GIVE YOUR ITEMS BACK. hope this helps
