Please don't hate as this post is just an idea. I am not criticizing you about your decisions so don't criticize mine.
Anyways, my idea for server owners who have a large group of "Donators" is to create a class that can be purchased with soft currency (as permitted by the EULA coming in to effect 08/01/14). The thing is, the new kit or whatever you want costs an insane amount of your soft currency. Before August 1st, give all your donators this kit or even multiple kits. You can do all of this before the new EULA takes effect so that your donators will still receive something for donating.
If the above post was tl; dr, you create a kit(s) that costs a huge amount of soft currency. Give your donators this kit(s) before August 1st. No one will be able to purchase this kit(s) without previously donating. That is better than not giving donators anything.
Here comes the shady part. If you still want donations after August 1st, you can give donators a donator rank. This rank has no extra features except cosmetic ones if you choose so, but you can after a few days, promote these donators to "Trial Mod" or something of the sort. That rank hasn't been paid for necessarily, it was just given... With the new rank you can give them the kits they donated for, without making a transaction of the sort.
What do you think about this solution. The shady part is mostly just theory, and it technically follows the EULA but it may still be caught by Mojang. Do you guys have any ideas on how to improve my solutions? What are your solutions yourselves?
Hmm, I don't think players would donate as they don't know whether they will get the items or the server will still be up by then.
I suppose that for smaller servers, that would be a problem. I know that there probably won't be any large servers looking for help on what to do on the MCF, but I just want to get it out there so that people might share this and get it to the attention of someone operating a large server.
I know a way to sell kits With the EULA Changes
it is still be fair if you sell the kits with In Game for alot of In Game money but also sell it for real money that way all players have accessor they can also donate to the server if u want it without working so hard Im gonna make a youtube video explaining it more link will be in a reply but you can also donate to the server if u want it without working so hard Re post this I hope it helps servers

Don't reply unless you know what you're talking about. You're allowed to sell any item that does not affect gameplay. Cosmetic items. In this case however, he could have sold whatever he wanted since it was before August 1st. His players also would have gotten to keep their stuff. Mojang stated specifically that the changes were to take place August 1st and that donator perks purchased before that date COULD BE KEPT.
This is going to sound kind of simple, but for us it really works.
Just ask for donations. Don't give anything out as a reward except maybe a green name or something, or a designation to show that you donated. The EULA says that kind of thing is OK. Remind people every now and again that if there is no money there will be no server. And send thank you notes to people who do give money.
I realize that this may not work with little children, but I'm not so sure little children should be pestering their parents to donate money to minecraft servers anyway. As players get older, into their teens, they have money, and they need to start thinking about taking responsibility, and that designation or green name is a reminder that some people do take responsibility and maybe you should too. If some of your players are adults, and even kid servers often have some adult players, they will step up and donate if they value the community and the experience. If some of your players are disabled adults who don't have money, well, you shouldn't be trying to get money from them anyway.
This is all we do at our server, we've been doing it for almost three years, and we have money in the bank, over three months ahead. And no, we don't have any big donors. It comes in small pieces.
And if you want to make more than just cover host fees? Well, stop doing it. Get a real job.

I totally agree. If you are trying to make a profit from hosting a server, you are doing it wrong.
