I'm trying to host a minecraft server, and I've been running into this extremely annoying issue that renders the server unplayable.
I downloaded the 14w27b snapshot server off of the mojang news/blog/whatever, and it turns out that after I broke a block, it took the server 15 seconds to realize that I'd broken the block and actually make the block break.
I've outruled computer issues, as my PC is a $1200 8-core 3-ish GHz machine running on 16 GBs of RAM. This happens to me when I'm playing and hosting on the same machine, so that means no network issues either. I decided to see what would happen if I booted up the server using a RUN.bat file I'd prepared, and here's what I got:
ERROR StatusLogger Unrecognized format specifier [d]
ERROR StatusLogger Unrecognized conversion specifier [d] starting at position 16
in conversion pattern.

Also, I'm running the server on 6 cores with 12 GBs of RAM.
If it helps, nothing shows in the "Log and Chat" section (in the window with the java icon).
That is why they are called snapshots. They are bug free and are in development.
I'm not stupid, Gavin. I just figured I'd post my findings for mojang to try and find the cause, because I don't want to have to deal with horrendous lag in minecraft 1.8. And also, I'm pretty sure they aren't bug free. Unless you're being sarcastic, which is the more likely thing.
Exact same issues here. I'm running on a server with plenty of resources. I get all the StatusLogger issues, and then nothing. Even if I start off with a new map.
Not sure where you got a copy of 14w27c... I have seen no release. The bug report says fixed so I assume on the next snapshot it will be working again. Probably 14w28a
