Hey guys, my friend is trying to set up a Minecraft server, he has it running flawlessly in his network, but of course no one outside of his network can connect. He needs to port forward 25565. And he has tried everything. We followed several tutorials (most of which were the same). Including the always useful portforward.com http://portforward.c...raft_Server.htm I myself have setup a server and done all the portforwarding. We have tried doing UTP/TCP and then doing them separately. Neither worked, we also tried using the Simple Port Forwarding program: http://www.simpleportforwarding.com/ It successfully created the port, but when it was tested it said the port was closed. In his Minecraft, he connects to the server using his internal ip address. Is it something to do with his firewall? or NAT settings?
What other information do you guys need :/ ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You get this problem beacuse thompson has a special way to port forward the router!
How to do:
Instead of port forwarding your COMPUTER, you have to port forward your ROUTER. That means that when you shall activate, or whatever you call it, you shall get your routers ip, that will say, the ip you connected to in your web browser! Since I don't have a Thompson Router myself, I don't know much more than this. Though I hope this helped you!
