Hey everyone,

I have a server I run that needs to allow the Mods to have essentials.gamemode and essentials.gamemode.others. I added these two lines to the Mod group of my GroupManager files, but still, the Mods get the dreaded "You don't have permission to do this" every time they try to use the command.

Here is my Groups YML:

I can do it fine being an op and a member of my admin group, but for some reason, no matter what I do with the Mod group, they cannot use the GameMode command. I tried adding it and shutting down the server and reloading it, restarting the physical server itself, reloading the configuration, reloading the GroupManager using "/manload". These are the plugins I'm using:

- Assassins
- ChestShop
- CombatTag
- Essentials
- Factions
- GroupManager
- ItemStay
- JCVaultListener
- mcMMO
- PluginMetrics (I didn't install this, but it shows up on it's own all the time)
- QuantumConnectors
- SimpleRegionMarket
- SteelSecurity
- Votifier
- WorldEdit
- WorldGuard

This was happening for sure before I installed Assassins, ChestShop, CombatTag, Factions, and QuantumConnectors.

Can anyone offer me some assistance here? Thanks!

I found the bukkit gamemode permission bukkit.command.gamemode. That may work. I found it here http://wiki.bukkit.org/CraftBukkit_commands

Nope, I forgot to mention that I tried that one as well. No luck with it either.

This man is lying! It is still "essentials.gamemode" I am running it on my server and it works fine. The official essentials nodes site confirms it. http://ess.khhq.net/wiki/Command_Reference/Perm It must be a problem with GM or essentials might have a bug in it OR one of your plugins might be interfering with essentials.gamemode command

Also in your guest group you have the permission "- -*" and because it gets inherited through all the other groups you might want to get rid of that. I know what you have it there for. You have it so they dont have access to commands you dont want them to. Though if they dont have the permission for the command they cant use it. There is no need to put that. Idk if thats your problem but ether way its not needed.

DON'T LISTEN TO HIM HES A LIAR XD jk, nah he knows what he is doing but killfrog i used this guys method and it worked, the commands started working for me and i know that your not SUPPOSED to need that put in there but his worked for me, maybe your essentials are not updated??? or maybe they are but retained the command to those players? plus you aren't using Group Manager like i am too soooo maybe that could also be the reason?

This permission works for my server... Maybe you arent using the same essential web this person is talking bout'

essentials.gamemode and essentials.gamemode.<creative|survival|adventure> don't work. I really need the permission for my Architect class!
