I had my server running perfectly fine when i had time warner cable.
We switched to centurytel/link.
I updated the ip and checked the ports on my router and they are all fine.
It doesn't work though. yougetsignal shows nothing (i am running the server when i test it)
I can only connect by LAN.
We got a new modem but i dont think that matters.
Does anyone know of a way to get my server to work/ what is wrong with my new ISP that i need to fix?
Thanks in advance, i couldn't find a topic like this

Did you write your external or Internal IP address in the server.proprieties?
Are you 100% sure your ports are correctly forwarded?
What IP did you use to connect?
What does it says when you try to connect in the server logs?

I used blank, and then I used my internal 192.168.1.104 ip. Neither worked. left it at the intenal for the following questioins.
I had them forwarded previously, and I forwarded them again. Do you have to port forward modems and routers? I only did the router because that's what worked before.
I used my internal 192 to connect by LAN. It worked. Then I tried to connect using the WAN(external) ip. It didn't work.
i get "connection refused: connect"

This is dumb
If you can't connect on your local network. Something is wrong internally.
Are you running the server on the same system you're connecting? If yes, can you connect to 127.0.0.1?
Please check if your External ip has changed.
check it here - http://goo.gl/fLL1y + :25565
Please check if your internal ip has changed.
check it here -
1. Open "run".
2. Type "cmd" then enter.
3. Type ipconfig
just find your ip there.
External IP = To connect to your Server.
Internal IP = Used to Port Forward.
External IP = Changes with your router/modem.
Internal IP = Changes with your pc/mac.
They are all good. I want to know if there is special setting that got changed with my new ISP Centurylink. If i run my internet through my router, which is hooked up to my modem, do I have to add modem settings as well as router settings? As in port forward settings.

My server worked before with the old modem.
That simply means that your external IP changed.
So you changed router? then your external IP has changed.
Get your new External IP Here - http://goo.gl/9PbUl :25565<- This will be used to connect to your server.
tell me if you changed pc.
Because I couldnt connect to my router when I bought a new one. I forgot that my External IP has changed.
I think I found the solution. I have two routers hooked up so i need to allow minecraft ports on both.

Now I just have to go home and test it =)
I hope this helps others!

I was going to ask next if your modem had an internal router in it. Many do these days.
