I really prefer playing minecraft with my friends, mostly because we can do stuff that just seems stupid doing it on your own or with a mob (like trading). But I hate it on offline multiplayer how only one person can log onto a offline server with the name 'Player' and requires opening up multiple minecrafts and quick memory editor (which is so annoying)to change our names. We hate it how when someone disconnects accidently and we have to log off the person using the nickname 'Player' to change the others name back again.
So I was wondering if there is (or will be) a name changer that you can use in-game and quickly, say typing in the command '/nickname bax399' would change my name from 'Player' to bax399 in a few quick moments.

another option instead of the command /nickname, if someone logged onto the server with 'Player' and another person did the same then the second person would have the name 'Player2' ect.

Now, why exactly do you need to use offline mode? The servers aren't down THAT much, and I guarantee nobody else will find your server. To my knowledge, there are no plugins or mods that allow you to do this either.

Unless I have misread what you've been saying here; your looking for a mod that will make it easier for you to play with your friends who have pirated copies of MC.
