Ok so I've set up a private server for me and a few friends and I got the idea that it would be cool to set up a web based map viewer (like MCMap Live) that would allow someone to load up a interactive version of the server map on their browser. I don't know exactly how I'm going to go about doing this or if anyone has already tired it or not but I'm going to give it a shot when I return from my holiday break.
If anyone has any suggestions or ideas let me know. Eventually I want to have a website devoted to the server that would allow people to register to it and have accounts, leave messages, post pictures, etc... (one idea was to have geo-tracking type challenges but that would require an accurate coordinate system). For now though I'm going to start with the live map rendering.
I've started a blog to keep track of the project. If anyone wants to help that would be awesome since otherwise it's going to be slow progress by myself. Check it out if you want.
Alright so I've got some stuff on the blog finally. I think the next thing i'm going to start working on is either a php header file, or script for displaying the server log.
Really need some good ideas for a server name though if anyone's got some.
So it's been a while but I've been slowly working on the server log script. Unfortunately with the start of a new semester and also I've been working on system admin stuff for a new site, progress is a little slow. But, I've added in MySQL capabilities and at least this script is almost done.
Check it out on the development blog, also soon (but maybe in a week or so) I'll put up a link to a new site I'm working on launching. The site won't actually be ready for launch but it will be where I'm work on all the minecraft server project stuff so it'll be online none the less. Anyways, the code is available via a link in the repository page:
There isn't much I have left to do with this script so if you've got any suggestion for improvement please let me know while I'm still engrossed in working on it.

Also, even you don't want to help with coding but have suggestions or ideas let me know. I'll keep this thread updated.

It's up on the repository if people want to try it out, but I'll be working on some easy improvements once I consolidate all the servers.
here are some tips...
When you port to SQL, you will probably want to include a hash into the sql table to prevent duplicates.
Pulling from the database, you can just throw them into PHP arrays (i use array_push), then to reverse them, you need only do something like:
Lulz

Thanks.
There have been small but daily updates for the past week and I hope to keep up that pace.
