When I start up ServerLauncher it says blah blah starting input loop... and nothing happens can't connet, no server, if I type in anything and hit enter, then suddenly it starts up the server, takes my command, and the server works. I don't know what it's waiting on but I have to give a command (or just any text garbage and enter) before it starts. Enter alone doesn't do it.
Windows XP.
ps:Thank you for this, and could we please have the "don't be a dumbass" welcome pulled from a txt file asap?
Just released the current version of the wrapper. It has a couple of extra commands and a couple bugfixes.
@caesarbear I'll take a look at what I coded to see if it could possibly cause that. Thanks. :smile.gif:
And in response to your ps, check the OP. I meant to take that out before releasing it but I was kind of borderline delirious when I released the server at 5:30 in the morning. :tongue.gif:
I've got this running, #summon works in game but no other commands do. anyone can summon, #admin or #trust anyone and nothing is added to the files.
I can even #summon toolkit, but if I add another kit to kits.txt, it wont summon the new one. I added "torches 50 50 50 50 50" just to test, and it doesnt respond.
okay, I'm currently running this wrapper on my server (thanks a million), but I have a question...I added my friend as admin with the #admin command, but my admins text file didn't update with him on it. However, he can still summon blacklisted items and when he logs in it treats him as a server admin. So it seems to work, but I never get anything confirming this, is this normal?
Yeah, I noticed that kicking and banning doesn't seem to be registered either. I was also disappointed that we can't put // comments or /* */ in the text files since they aren't parsed correctly otherwise.
You need an in-game #stop command for admins.
Otherwise this is currently the best wrapper in my opinion (well, when it starts working properly :-D).

Currently when you use the admin or trust command it just stores it in memory and only writes to the file when the server is exiting. I believe that Czarhian said he was changing that.

Admins are saved to the file after an admin uses the #save command or the server is stopped.
@Lawlcat Same thing - banned users are saved to a file in an identical manner.
And yeah, I put zero time into making the parser for the files "smart". I don't really see a reason to. There is a reason I said the format they are in on the OP.
To skip having to spend time playing with your path or fiddling in a command prompt:
Make a shortcut. For the application ("location of the item" or "target"), it's the main java executable. (plus any arguments.) On my machine that's
Also be sure you check the properties of the shortcut, and make sure it runs in the correct folder. (the "run in" line) For my test it was
"C:\Documents and Settings\tyroney\Desktop\ServerLauncher"
(this part is why you shouldn't have to worry about paths, though I'll admit on my machine the jre is already in the system-wide path variable)
Bad idea. Not having paths set right breaks the wrapper's internals.
You are probably doing what tyroney said, which was already pointed out would not work unless you change the system variable for the path to the java binary. The instructions are in the original post.
Ok, trying to run this on XP. I have the correct paths entered, but all it does is stops at "Starting input Loop...".
Can connect to the server mostly without problem but the wrapper seems inactive.
Tried another computer with XP and same problem so it can't be just my computer.
What happens when your type 'help' and enter when it says "Starting input loop..."?
If you can't download anything from Mediafire while millions of others do on a daily basis... there is something wrong with you and your computer.
......
So the other 10 people who are having the same issue in this thread have something wrong with their computer as well?
mediafire sucks
Author of the plugin, is there anyway you can set something up that stores items since chests are broken? I guess this would be more of a feature request.

Just got the new release running on my server flawlessly. Nice job so far and can't wait for the source :smile.gif:.
And i have to say, I love this =]
Admin - can do anything
Power User - can summon anything even if it is black listed
Builder - can summon if it isn't black listed
Then of course you would have the people with no rights. So far the trusted system works out pretty well, keep up the good work :smile.gif:.
Also if you want I can give you access to my ftp site and you can upload stuff there and have people dl it from my server instead of using media fire.

My ISP and server helps dox me, so i took it off.

I basically only want nontrusted players to be able to summon the kits, I don't want them to be able to summon by item ID.
