Zallist will no longer be handling updates for the Official MCZall software. The source code has been released and the link is available on our wikipedia here: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/MCzall


You are more than welcome to take the code and change as you see fit.

I, Lawlcat, will be taking over coding of the non public software from now on. New updates will still be pushed from my new webserver, which is http://www.mclawl.tk. You can download the latest server executable from there. Any downloaded version from now on out, from that site, will also have the update feature properly fixed.

If you are currently running MCZall on your server and want to continue to receive updates, you will need to download r35 from the above address, http://www.mclawl.tk. Our creative server Ocean Flatgrass Multiworld will still continue to use updated MCZall software that I update.

Again, the biggest most important thing I can say in this post:

IF YOU ARE RUNNING AN MCZALL SERVER AND WANT TO CONTINUE TO RECEIVE UPDATES, YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THE NEW SOFTWARE. You will NOT recieve any updates, and hitting the update button may cause crashes until you do.
This will be the OFFICIAL MCZall furthuring. This is not someone picking up the source and running with it, this is sanctioned by Zallist and the task was given to me to continue official updates.

Also I realize the website is crap, I am no webdesigner. I may work out something better for now, but it works to get it functional.

Hmm. Quick question, will there be a feature to change the rank names/add new ranks?

Changing rank names would take quite a bit of internal coding and changing alot altogether. Adding new ranks is again, not sure. MCSharp didn't leave much room for improvement on ranks, but I'll add it to my TODO list and see what I can conjure up. No promises.

Http://www.mclawl.tk is what Superhotglue made up real quick for it. I'm welcome to any new pages. Just need something simple with a spot for a TODO list that I can update (in notepad even) and a Changelog to show changes.

If your server's got PHP, I can draft you up a quick and dirty changelog utility to go with what I put together for you.

All I'm running is a simple smallHTTP server on my own machine. Nothing else is on there :| I haven't looked for any decent free hosting yet, and I'm not really in the mood for paying for anything nor setting up a big giant apache server on my desktop :sad.gif: Not sure what to do about that hurdle

Okay, I'll throw something up on my space, and if you like it, you can feel free to use it if you'd like. I've got a pretty decent server without too awful much running on it (biggest thing I'm running on it is a forum with ~1300 users).

That'd be pretty great, so long as I get nice and simple FTP access to upload all my files on a constant basis :smile.gif:

Being as the web server is hosted on my home connection, there may be some issues for now until I can get a better setup going. It appears to be up and down rightnow and unfortunately I won't be home until later this evening to fix it. Just keep trying the page every couple minutes.

As a quick status update, once I get a bit more functionality implemented, the basic initial site'll be done.

There may simply be something I missed or do not understand, but I'd like to play devil's advocate a moment.

Why is this transference of ownership not posted by Zallist himself, or why did Zallist not at least post confirming this transference?

There's the potential that we might encounter some bugs, but the site's ready. Lawlcat, when you get this, contact me by PM and I'll show it to you, and you can decide if you'd like to use it. Also, if you decide you want to use it and you can change the nameservers the domain uses, you can use the same domain for it as well.
