What revision are you running? It's sounding like you're using an older version.
I should note, a sharing violation can mean permissions. In linux you'll need to make sure that user you're running mono as can access the .lvl, and make sure nothing else is using the file.
Wanted to confirm the same problem here, using Mono on Linux. I used the .dat to .lvl converter, which apparently worked fine. However, when I try to load the .lvl file, I get this:
Uninspired uses /load caves
Level initialized
FAILED TO SAVE :caves
Sharing violation on path /home/andrew/MCServer/levels/caves.lvl
LOADED: Level "caves".
and the level is just an adminium box with maybe 3 or 4 of the bottommost layers still intact. The contents of the file itself are deleted, which is pretty ironic :biggrin.gif: .
This is using the latest revision (214), and I checked the file/folder permissions.
be sure to chown and chmod -R the levels folder. You'll need read and write permissions on that folder and any child folders.
Didn't work. I extracted MCSharp to a new folder, copied a level over, and got the same results. I've got a pic of the monstrosity, for what it's worth. Probably similar to what FreeRam saw.
It's a permission error. Just do a chown -r root:root /root/minecraft and then run it as root. I however don't suggest running anything as root or even allowing root to login.
I had an old vanilla server in which i dumped level and converted to lvl using dat to lvl converter.
I then renamed to main.lvl and replace the defualt one in the /levels/ folder from MCSharp
But...when i run command i get this error with the map
It then gives me some stupid map that is filled with OP-block and is useless
