We've uncovered some issues for the recent release. If you are having any spikes in ram/cpu usage or backup/loading problems, feel free to revert to version 190 or 192. We are trying to get this sorted out. We did not know of these issues as our current tester (Arib) has not run into any of these.

Nothing like this for me (as far as I can tell). I dont use Windows Sidebar gadgets, so I can't really properly tell.
Plus, all my backups are working perfectly.
Also, I have a question. Is there any way to limit who can use the WoM Client's speed hacks (Ctrl or Shift, both make you run faster)? I want to limit speed hacks to Builders, Advbuilders, Ops and Admins. No speed hacks for guests. This way it'll make it easier for me to keep up with any possible griefers who have access to the WoM Client.
TheColony server is using MCSharp if I'm not mistaken, and they have speed hacks off for most ranks.
I'll bet you get into a lot of fights because you're so hardcore. I wouldn't want to cross you in a dark alley. Heck, even in a lit alley, I bet that'd be pretty dangerous.

Well as far as I know you can add -speed to MOTD to only disable the speed hax. -hax will disable flying too. So if you want flying and speed disabled, you only need -hax. Adding +ophax will give OP/SuperOP all hax (including noclip.) I don't know that you can specify to lower than OP rank.

Still....even though it's easy access...it still seems odd.
Like, I can understand if it was a 2-way portal type thing that could teleport you from one part of a map to another part of the same map.
But using for easy access...doesn't seem right.
And for my main map, if I was to convert it into a portal area, what if I wanted to keep "main" as a place for guests to build stuff and prove their worth? They'd be building giant walls in front of my portals.
I'd really hate to have to make a "guestbuild" map and take the chance of a guest coming in, trying to build, seeing that he can't build on main, and then leaving. Plus, it'd take up 1 map space, and I already have at least 10 or 11 maps, maybe 12, loaded right now. And there's a 15 map limit apparently.
I'll bet you get into a lot of fights because you're so hardcore. I wouldn't want to cross you in a dark alley. Heck, even in a lit alley, I bet that'd be pretty dangerous.

I have /pervisit and /perbuild set for every map, so only certain ranks can /goto certain maps.
Will the portals be able to detect a players rank and prevent them from teleporting to a map that has /pervisit set to not allow that players rank to normally /goto?

You can Op_air the area around the portal so that people can't build on it.
Is there any way to make a map so that only a certain rank can build on it like advbuilder? This would be good to make contests and stuff. Maybe like /peronly <rank>

If you set Pervisit to "advbuilder", only advbuilders, ops and admins can /goto the map.
If you set Perbuild to Guest, everyone from Guest to Admin can build.

I know that but some of my ops build on the advbuilder contest levels sometimes. I meant rank only, like only advbuilders can build there nothing under them and nothing above.

Can't be done, unless you feel like telling your ops to screw off and stop building on the contest maps :tongue.gif:

speaking of portals and such, how complex are they going to be, on an old server i used to go to (running some un-identified server :/) portals were hell to put in, you need to get co-ords of both portals and then add them and yeah was really complex. just now i though of a nice easy way portals could work, i dont know how easy/hard it would be to implement but its worth a look at?
ok, so basically you create a portal (/portaladd <name> [tp location]) so it creates this portal lets say portal "A" that will teleport to portal "B" when you go to create portal b you would type in the name of the portal and where it leads, thus creating a nice two way portal (you'd have to make sure they lead to just infront of the portal as it would make an infinite loop (unless you guys have a plan to stop that already xD))
don't know if that was clear enough, but it would REALLY simplify adding portals :wink.gif:
Also, perhaps its a bug or maybe not, but the different doors don't react with each other so i cant make doors with windows :/ which i was looking forward to :sad.gif:
anyways thats my two cents xD hope to get more awesome updates!

Building on that idea, I would suggest using something like "/portal <portal name> <destination portal name>" that works like "/solid" where every block paced becomes a portal with those settings. With that you could have multiple portals pointing to the same portal. Also would be great if portals could go to other portals whether they're on the same map or a different map. If the portal pointed to a map that wasn't loaded there could be an option in server properties to load maps when visited by portal or give a message saying the map isn't loaded.
the portal idea would certainly simplify things greatly, and the toggle idea is an epic one, its essentially what i was getting at but yeah anyways... any ideas on the next release?

Already been done.
A certain server program, I think it's Myne-something or something like that, has a built in teleporter function, and if a map isn't loaded, when you go through the teleport to the unloaded map, it just teleports you back to the map you tried to teleport from.
I'll bet you get into a lot of fights because you're so hardcore. I wouldn't want to cross you in a dark alley. Heck, even in a lit alley, I bet that'd be pretty dangerous.
There should be a configurable wait function on the teleporter because if a player repeatedly enters a portal, they could possible lag the hell out of the server.
What I was trying to emphasize was not that a portal would deny you if the world wasn't loaded but that there would be an option to have the server automatically load the map if someone tries to go there. To complicate things further, it would be cool if the server would unload maps (other than main) that have been inactive for X amount of time and if someone tried to use a portal to a map that's not loaded when the server has reached the map limit, it would unload the longest inactive map and load the map that the person is trying to reach.

Just noticed this on the Day7Tech frontpage.
If you guys are adding this in, add in more OP blocks so we can make proper ungriefable portals. I figure this should do it:
- All the dyed cloth blocks should be op_<color>
- op_wood
- op_leaves
- op_mossy_cobblestone (a shorter version could be op_mcobble)
- op_cobblestone
Etc. You get the idea.
But there's something that strikes me as odd: Why would we need portals that take us to other levels, if we already have /goto?
Still....even though it's easy access...it still seems odd.

Then I could put "Guests: If you want to build, look for the portal with "GUESTS" above it and go into the water. You can build there".
And it'd have a little "X" at the top so you could close the popup.
Other than that, I can't see myself really using the portal system....but I can always give it a try.

edit: nevermind, I figured out the other stuff. Still not sure about adding a new map and being able to /goto it
You have to /load the map
/facepalm.
