I really need to be able to use characters such as / or even ( or ) in my server name and or MOTD
Will this be fixed in the next version?
It is quite important to me
I've tried this, but every time i do the players.dna just comes back when someone joins my server (including me). It doesn't cause any problems though. Also when i log out sometimes and try to join back in it says in the "window":(08:21:27) MY IP connected.
(08:21:32) MY IP kicked (You must login! Try again.). PLZ HELP!
I found that this happens when you take too long to log in, so try using a smaller map.

Listening socket -- as in -- where the clients connect to.
so if it can't create it, it can't get connections.
Try changing the port that it uses.
Isn't the port supposed to be: 25565?
Oh and plz make a /copy command. I'm not trying to copy (no pun intended :tongue.gif: ) MCPP, but this would be nice. How do I turn .dat files into .lvl files? I've already tried the dat->lvl converter and it didn't work  . Is there any other way to do this? If so, what is it? If not, thanks anyway.

Same, I'll miss /copy and /restore, though I know MCSharp has restore, from what I read it was the entire map and not restoring only between action blocks like MCPP does, something that has been EXTREMELY useful to me.

Did you put the .dat in the same folder as the converter? I don't know if this is required, but it's how I use it. You then run the converter and type the filename such as "mymap.dat" (without quotes) and hit enter. It should then list some information and you hit enter to close the window. This will create a .lvl file, with no name. Rename the .lvl to whatever and throw it in your server maps. I'm assuming if you run the converter, and it shows the information as if it converted the map but you don't see the .lvl, then it's something to do with hidden file extensions on XP. Windows 7 should show the .lvl anyway since it's not a registered extension for any program (unless you set it to a program.) I'm assuming Vista will act the same way as 7.
I'll bet you get into a lot of fights because you're so hardcore. I wouldn't want to cross you in a dark alley. Heck, even in a lit alley, I bet that'd be pretty dangerous.
Hey, I've been loving MCSharp after my clanmates requested some more features than the basic server package provides, but I've had one problem with it. I added "public = false" to server.properties but it's still showing up on the server listing.
Any ideas on what's going wrong? Anyone with a working private server want to show me their server.properties? (with identifying parts hidden)

Put "public = false" as the last line in the file. That worked for me.

Preferably, if the file was hosted on something other than day7tech.com, that would be great. I can't access the site at all. day7tech seems to be down.

Been down all day from what I've seen, and I think yesterday.
I hope they don't mind if post a link, I threw the last copy of regular and dev that I downloaded onto my site.

Perfect! Thanks :biggrin.gif: I'll stick with the regular version, as my laptop (HP G60 Notebook PC) is prone to overheating while a game (be it CD-ROM, Steam, Flash or Java) is running. The dev version would probably break this damn laptop.
Quick question, and forgive me if this has been asked before.
How do I turn my .DAT maps into .LVL? Do I just rename them?
EDIT: Nevermind, it seems you edited your post to include a link to the DatConverter. Thank you again!

Alright, I figured out the DATConverter and was able to convert my woodenbox, aquabuild, and tallbuild maps to .LVL files.
However, my old "server_level.dat" from my MinerCPP server wasn't able to be converted.
I did everything correctly and it said:
"Loading file
Invalid magic number"
One of my admins and friends is upset because I can't convert the old main map, which had all our best work on it (giant Canadian flag, my awesome house, etc).
Is there any way to convert my old server_level.dat from MinerCPP into a .LVL?

P.S. I realize that water and lava will flood.
I'll try this, thx.

The port can be any number, it doesn't matter which one really. I changed mines to 25566.

You can dump them using a not-so-secret secret client wrapper.

Oh yeah, i forgot about that thing. Thanks! :biggrin.gif:

Wait, isn't Ulr teh one who's gonna release it, or have you taken over the project? I havent read every page of this thread.
You need to install the .NET Framework on your server machine.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en
is where you will find it.

Can someone provide me with the link to the newest version?
I tried going to http://day7tech.com/minecraft , but it's buggered up.

Same method as .lvl back to .dat:
