So, in the past few days, my server that I'm running has been consistently deleting the map file and replacing it with another. It does get rather annoying, as people do build some pretty good stuff on it.
The map I use is a 512x512x256 flatgrass/ocean with Omen pre-generated caves, if that changes anything.
Is there a way to make this happen less often without changing the map size?
Make sure the file has fully saved before you close the server. I've had similar problems where I closed the server after I had thought it had saved and it was only 250kb out of 650kb or so.

I have this same problem too, and it seems to happen most when I switch maps, then go back to my first map.
I always rename my first map back to "server_level.dat" and it never seems to "see" it in the folder.
I just tried right now deleting the ".dat" from the name but keeping it as a DAT file, and it worked!
So if you're having this problem...
1. Name your map "Server_level.dat"
- It should change the file to a DAT file
2. Go to Properties in that file
3. In the name field, delete the ".dat" at the end.
- This should keep the file as a DAT while removing the .dat from the name
The BAT should see the file correctly now :biggrin.gif:
Good luck! Hope it works!
