[WARN]: **** FAILED TO BIND TO PORT!
[WARN]: The exception was: java.net.BindException: Cannot assign requested address
[WARN]: Perhaps a server is already running on that port?
Ok, my ip changes everyday, so when it changes my server don't work and for some time I accidently do it and it works. I found the problem, every time when I set 192.168.L.XLX in my server properties it don't work, When I try to delete it, it works but when I go on www.yougetsignal.com It's says it is closed and noone can join. I have port forwarding, I checked are they same, I copied 192.168.L.XLX from port forwarding and get it in server properties. I checked are there more java proceses, I restarted computer... What I need to do?
I might have an answer, it might be because you have something that I think is called a ghost Java running. This was caused probably because you didnt stop the server correctly. So to fix this, you need to either restart your computer or go to task manager (assuming that you are using Windows) and go to the processes tab and End the process 'Javaw' and, or 'craftbukkit'. Hope this helps This has happened to me before and I fixed it by doing that.
This is a re-uccuring problem for me.
Im running a bukkit server and im not using hamachi. Im port forwarding.
at least for me, the problem is usually that the IPv4 adress changed.
so i go back into the cmd and look through ipconfig for the new IPv4 adress.
then go back to the server properties and port forwarding ip and change those to the new IPv4 adress.
and lastly i change the one i connect to the server with a little.
This might fix your problem (if you havent already)
****** and if the cmd wont let you get ip config (like me) ******
right-click computer and click properties.
to the left, click advanced system settings.
at the bottom of that new window, click enviroment variables.
under 'system variables' click 'new'
on the top bar type 'PATH'
on the bottom bar type 'C:\Windows\System32'
then click 'ok' and close the windows.
Then check the cmd for your IPv4 adress
but when your done you have to go back to the system variables. (and re-set the java path)
new> on the top type 'PATH' on the bottom type 'C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin'
and if you havent already make another one 'CLASSPATH' and 'C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin'
Then try running your server.
Yeah I think my IPv4 ip changed, but I don't know how to do ipconfig on ubuntu (linux). It's not ghost java 100% restarted my computer like ten times. I want get a dynamic ip but I can't cuz my port isn't open on that port. Zedoli I will try doing that.
Thanks guys NaomiSaibolt and Zedoli. My ipv4 adress changed it was 192.168.1.2 and now is 192.168.1.2 and that was problem with my server. If you guys have problem like me, try get your new ipv4 adress if changed and look for ghost java. Thanks!
