OK. So I have a verizon wireless router (Actiontec by the way) and i added the 25565 port to it and checked it with PFportchecker and it said it was open and ready to use. After that i put the minecraft 1.3.2 server ina folder and checked the properties. I changed what i needed to change and added the ip (192.168.1.4) to the server ip option. Then i opened up the minecraftserver.exe and there were no problems or errors. So I open up Minecraft and i go to Multiplayer and type in the ip which is 192.168.1.4:25565, and then it kept saying that I cannot connect to the server. Then i tried putting in localhost but that didnt help either. So can any1 please help me? All I wanted was to make a server so that me and my one friend can go on and have fun. >
I have the exact same problem i downloaded the server files and portforwarded i did everything the vid told me to do and i watched a lot of vids on what to type to connect but none of them work, i know i portforward right and i know my router allows ports because i had a server for minecraft pocket edition, so i think it has something to do with my firewall please help

You out "localhost" on the direct connect in multiplayer, and it should alow you to connect to you're own server.
