Im trying to run a hack slash mine server using hamachi, i can connect, but no one else can. Before you start on 'well why don't you just port forward, your so lazy" Well what if i ended up port forwarding incorrectly, hamachi takes that out of the picture, and makes sure there is no firewall interferance. Error: 'can't reach server".
Heres jumbly bits of info.
-I can connect through both localhost and the hamachi ip.
-The ip in the server properties is right, and i gave my friend that same ip to connect to (no we didnt put the port number in the end)
-There are no warnings in the server log.
-There is no log of my friend trying to connect.
-Hamachi is in direct tunnel.
-Whitelist is turned off.
-I'm running the server on the same machine i'm connecting to, yes it can handle it.
-I've tried the connection with firewall turned off anyways, nope.
-I'm pretty sure I installed hack/mine correctly i put the hack/mine server files into the server 1.2.3 jar
-Tried using my wireless connection and wired connection.
Just post if there's anything else you need to know
*I just tried this with a generic minecraft server.exe and he can't connect to that either.
I can't figure out where things are going wrong, i can stay here and troubleshoot for as long as it takes, if anyone is up to this task.
FINALLY! I did it!, Solved! I ended up searching through programs allowed through my firewall, and allowing certain javaw's through. (I Would thank someone, but no one even tried to troubleshoot with me)
still nothing? has this entirely befuddled everyone? Since this problem isn't simply "Run server, put in ip in property, put ip in connection, press connect, you connect ಠ_ಠ.

Have you recently changed any of your wireless/ethernet driver settings?
The same thing happened to me the other night. I accidentally uninstalled my driver (dun ask how... idk) and reinstalled it. Since that point no one can connect to my server. I honestly don't think any settings changed.
Have you been able host servers previously? Or is it your first time?
Driver settings remain the same, i ran a server way back during 1.7 beta, 1.8 beta, and i had it going about a month ago. (and yes i am using the correct server version, 1.2.5)
Hamachi makes things easier, i know that portforwarding isn't the problem (i still port forwarded anways with port checker) Hamachi makes things easier lol.
Well, still can't find the reason why he can't connect.
Does anyone know the possible reasons for the error: 'Can't reach server'? ya, just list reasons why people get that error, and i'll see if the problem lies there, and just any reason, specific, or simple.
Yeah, I'm having the same problem myself. I just recently upgraded to Windows 7 64-Bit and reinstalled everything. I can connect to other servers just fine, but no one can connect when I'm hosting. Everyone's running 1.2.5 MC, as well as the latest Hamachi.
Hello someones I have the same problem with my computer I have several computer I usually run my server on my Mac OS X and its a good server but I got a new computer (Alienware) and its much better but I tried running my server on my Alienware instead and I had the same problem sorry I didn't see you post months ago I know but today I just found it. Also, I have been able to run a terraria server to this day, and I had a private hamachi server for almost a year, but one day, I went to reset it to install a bukkit plugin (it was core-protect) and I opened it and my friend couldn't connect. I un-installed coreprotect. nothing happened. I made a new bukkit server? nothing. I got a new vanilla server? nothing. I even deleted hamachi off of my pc and reinstalled it but nothing has happened (note that I did try port forwarding after the issues, and modified a few ip settings, even though it didn't work. :l)The connection form others has been weird for a while though, I cant use any logmeins, I cant use remote desktop connection, and I cant use remote mouse.

Click that little green button in the bottom right corner if I helped.
The minecraft server is a finicky thing.

Server and client are 1.2.5.
Me and friend are on the same hamachi network, its running.
Server properties untouched except for: level-name=worldfirst
server-ip:5.37.73.2
server running (exe)
Friend connects to 5.37.73.2
No log
From here, what could be the problem?
Ive had the exact same problem
