Hi. I've been wanting to play Minecraft with my friends but some of them don't have a PC available nowadays, so I decided to try Bedrock. Me and some would use the Windows 10 edition, some would use MCPE, and maybe some could use a Console Edition. I installed the Dedicated Server files and created it. It worked. The videos I saw only talked about Port Forwarding, but I don't want to do this since I would be exposing my family router to the internet (I don't know for sure, I'm just afraid). Since I played Java Edition with a Virtual LAN before, like Hamachi, or a VPN, like Radmin VPN, I thought that it might be an option. I decided to use ZeroTier One since it works on Windows, Android and iOS. In theory who used Windows would connect just fine, who used Android or iOS too, and who used the console version would just need to connect their Consoles to their Phone with Hotspot On and ZeroTier installed.
Well... Edit: I created the Minecraft Server, installed ZeroTier One on both Windows (host of the Server) and on Android and joined the Network I created, with both on different Wi-Fi connections to simulate what my friends would experience, but wasn’t able to make it work properly. It had quite some erratic behavior and I couldn’t connect to the Minecraft Server on Android.
After some experimenting I discovered that the PC and Android Phone can ping each other pretty well, but once I open Minecraft on the Android Phone the ping drops to “Request timed out”.
I suppose there’s an issue that takes a few seconds to start while using ZeroTier and Minecraft Pocket Edition at the same time.
By Switching out and back to the game on the Phone after the ping had come back to normal, I was able to join the server and interact with it for a few seconds, but then the issue started again and I was disconnected and unable to join back.
Edit 2: I tested the connection with another laptop with ZeroTier and Minecraft installed and the issue did not appear. It worked normally. I suppose the issue is Android only.
● Pinging the host PC from another laptop (expected behavior): (Please don't mind the foreign language)
● Pinging the Phone from the host PC (issue):
I'm trying to either make ZeroTier work or to find another VPN or Virtual LAN app that works on both mobile and PC but I wasn't able to do neither. Glad if someone helps 😶👍
(Sorry if I typed something wrong, English is not my first language)
Edit: Apparently my post was moved from Server Support to Bedrock Support, it seems a bit weird to me but it makes sense

Found the cause. Also found a simple fix. The issue is Xiaomi Phone only due to the built-in "Game Turbo".
