I am really starting to get annoyed... I made a bug report and nothing has happened... I was told on the support Twitter to go to the forums which sent me to Nintendo support which was then told to go to Mojang support and then Mojang support told me to send them a email though after I fill it out and hit send it sends me to an error page...since the 6th of September I have not been able to play Minecraft on my Switch it sits on a blank screen for about 3 minutes and then goes to the Mojang screen where the little loading bars move then freeze move then freeze and then I get the error message "The software was closed because an error occurred." I would love for this to be fixed so I can actually start playing Minecraft on my Switch again!
Check the contacts on the game card and game card reader on your nintendo switch are clean. If you find that the game is still not working then you might have a faulty game card.

🔥 I like Halo, Minecraft and Nintendo.
🖥️ Uses Python, PowerShell, AHK!
Maybe try getting the digital version of the game or replace your game card. Check if your game card reader is fine on your switch. Maybe this will cost more $29.99 if you consider to get another copy of minecraft for the switch its worth the money if you want to play minecraft on your switch.

This not a switch problem but minecraft's problem. I would suggest to try resetting the game for your user and try playing.
Make sure that minecraft, your nintendo switch's system software and your controllers are updated.

I've reset it already and everything is up to date
Do you own minecraft physically or digitally?

I own a physical copy of Minecraft.

I have already done that and it was working fine for a while so if my game card is faulty what do I do?

I did do the thing to check if my game is corrupted and it said it wasn't
So I just digitally downloaded it and it still does not work.
What I mean that you buy the game from the eshop.

I did and it still doesn't work
i had the same problem and fixed it.
1.On your Switch highlight the Minecraft window and press plus.
2.Go to Save Data Cloud and on the right you see your account name.
3. Press your account name and a Window opens and it should start a Backup.
4. Keep the Window open while you do the Backup and dont close it before the Backup is finished.
Reason is, everytime you do something else on your Switch the Minecraft Backup resets to zero and
you have to start again.Thats why it never fixes itself, you have to keep the damm window open and dont let
the switch go into standby.
5.After the Backup is finished (mine was 1GB!) you can close the window and Minecraft works again.
I turned Automatic Save Data Cloud off for now, untill mojang or Nintendo figures out what cause this error.
Have fun playing
