I just recently started trying to play Minecraft again. When I went to load the game, I created a new world. When the world loads, it starts loading the blocks and then freezes the computer completely. The only thing I can do is a hard-reset. Not sure what to do to troubleshoot it. I have updated video card drivers, Minecraft has been reinstalled, and I have closed a number of programs running in the system tray to try to isolate what is going on. I don't have any resource packs trying to load, and after reinstalling, I haven't changed any of the settings.
This is what I've got:
EVGA RTX 2080Ti
Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB (Windows drive, Win10 Pro 1903)
Samsung 970 Evo 500gb (Ubuntu 18.04 drive)
Seagate 7200RPM 2TB data drive (with nothing on it but my downloads folder)
I have my machine setup to load GRUB so I can boot to either Linux or Win10.
FWIW, the Java version of Minecraft seems to work just fine in Win10. Also, Bedrock worked just fine a month or so ago when I used it to create a realm for my kids and their friends. Everything else on my machine works fine.
