I called Microsoft because the Realms website leads you back to Xbox support for the Windows 10 edition of Minecraft, I told them about this, and they said they'd inform Mojang of everything I said, but in the meantime suggested I make a post here. So, here I am.
Here is the whole story, written in a way that I hope makes sense.
My brother and I have a Minecraft Realm that we play on in the Windows 10 edition. We've been playing a few months now.
Today, I was minding my own business inside my fortress while we were both online, when suddenly something smacked me in the back of my head. At first, I thought maybe it was an Enderman and I'd accidentally triggered him. I continued working, when something hit me again, and I'm growing suspicious. Long story short, this goes on for a few minutes, and I'm asking my brother (we're on Discord) if he's messing with me at this point. He says, "No", but at this point I'm not convinced because I know what he's capable of.
Then, my fortress goes insane. Doors are opening and shutting on their own rapidly, like some kind of redstone malfunction in the building. At first we thought it was just me lagging or something, but after it kept happening I knew something was wrong. I watched the doors open, and I heard it all around me in my headset: something was in the building, opening and closing the doors. We're clueless now, and I'm searching all around the building.
Then something attacks me again, and I saw it: there's a smoke wisp in the air in front of me, barely perceptible, like just a pixel or two of torch smoke.
"WHAT THE " I shouted. It started attacking me again, and now I'm chasing it through the building as it opens doors. It's running circles around me and flying through and around my fortress (it's a rather small one right now) and I can't keep up with it. Now I am shouting in the microphone, telling my brother that something is here with us. Someone is here with us. It hit me again, and I got a debuff I didn't recognize right away. I'm using a texture pack I only recently started using.
I'm shouting in the mic, "It hit me with something! I'm debuffed! What the?!"
Now my brother is also scrambling around. I explained to him the icon I saw, and he said it was a Weakness potion. "Huh," I thought out loud. "Can witches be invisible?" My brother says "No". It even destroyed my armor stand with my diamond armor on it.
Finally, I chase it downstairs. The door that leads outside to the dock swings open, and I see something else: a snowball. It's holding a snowball, and it hits me again before the door shuts. I've never seen a mob throw a snowball, so now I'm assuming it is a player.
My brother and I continue searching for the invisible player, and I am freaking out. I plead with him to fess up if he's playing a prank on me. He swears over and over it isn't him. Meanwhile, I am scrambling around screaming madly when I see our invisible aggressor. "THERE IT IS, THERE IT IS!" I'm also in the text chat, begging this person to reveal themselves, but no response. During this time, my brother says something also hit him from behind.
We found ourselves standing at the front door of my fortress, when all of a sudden, I see an item on the ground.
"Did you put that there?" I asked him. It was a potion. He says he didn't. "Are you sure?" Yes, he's sure. He picks it up, and tells me it's a potion of invisibility.
He tosses me the potion, and I confirm it is. He says I should drink it, go for it. I do, and it gives me invisibility for eight minutes, as promised.
I heard the invisible person here and there after that, but no more attacks were made. I asked my brother firmly to fess up if it was him, and he promised it was not.
Now I am here, in this forum, wondering if our humble Minecraft realm was hacked, or I just encountered some kind of rare poltergeist mob. No other players were shown in the list of players in the game, and my brother swears to me it is not him that's behind this. Does anybody know if Realms can be hacked? If we drew the ire of some random internet person and they figured out our Gamertags, could they easily do this? Or perhaps if one of our computers were hacked, could they do this?
Realms are invite only, so someone has to be invited into it to play.
There is NO magic poltergeist mob.
So in conclusion, your brother or you invited someone into the realm and they were playing a trick on you, thats the only answer
Sorry, I'm getting used to using forums. I would like to believe that, but he's swearing to me now it's not him. And we've not invited anyone else besides his girlfriend, who we know for a fact it was not.
Nevermind, sorry to bother everyone. I must look very foolish.
After I told him I contacted Microsoft support and was talking on the forums, my brother confessed and told me how he pulled it off. He said he never meant it to go this far. I suspected it was him all along, but he promised it was not.
Obviously, my trust is broken, and he took advantage of me. But we also had a very in-depth discussion about how serious hacking is and how dire the consequences are when someone hacks you, especially since just earlier this year I had someone steal my identity and thousands of dollars from me. And now I don't know how to delete a thread!

You can probably do something like: Report - move/delete post, and then in the comment area type that you would like your thread deleted please.
Sorry that your brother was being a jerk, they can be that way sometimes.

https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-65040 (might be the reason why there was the invis witch)
That's fascinating. I suspected it was a witch myself, but do witches also throw snowballs? That's kind of my smoking gun here.
