I would like to start off by saying this is a brilliant site and and is full of useful information.
Well I had (still have) a Iphone4 and it has the latest addition of minecraft on it of course, and it has my worlds (I really just use one though). Well I just got a Iphone 5, and I can not figured out how in the world to get the save game (with things I have built and all my items etc) over to the iphone 5. I tried to join server then choose "copy and quit" but that does not leave me the base or any items.
Any help will be much apprciated, and I know this is the best place to turn for this type of question.
As long as you have a computer, there is no need for another device or a jailbreak.
Get the program called iExplorer that you can use to transfer files from your iPhone to your computer.
First, no need for iExplorer. It is overkill and a paid app. Try iFunbox. Free and is perfect for moving files around.
Load up iFunbox, click on apps, find Minecraft PE, then Documents>Games>com.mojang and then drag the "minecraftWorlds" directory to your desktop.
Unplug the old iphone/ipod/ipad and plug in the new one. Now navigate to the same spot and replace the minecraftWorlds directory with the one on your desktop.
If you have no access to a computer, it'd be easier to upload your chunks.dat, entities.dat, and levels.dat to a download hosting website, then switch to your THRE device and download those there and copy it to your minecraftworlds folder.
About the missing items put them in a chest and try quiting and copying the map again. When you quit and copy a map you do not get other players items.

Easy migration from one iDevice to another.
Thank you, I'm out.
Just wanted to amend this as it was very helpful but somewhat incomplete :
1) First open iTunes
2) connect device with source Minecraft PE World
3) open iFunBox (requires non jailbreaked devices to be connected to iTunes first)
4) full path is User Applications -> Minecraft PE -> Documents -> games -> com.mojang -> minecraft worlds
5) drag folder to desktop
6) eject / safe removal device (lower right corner)
7) attach new device with iTunes still open
8) navigate back to same path as #4
9) drag minecraft worlds folder from desktop to com.mojang folder
I just upgraded from a 3GS to iPhone 4. Through iTunes I did a back up of my old phone and restored it onto my new phone, it restored all of my apps and it even restored my world on to the new phone. Not sure if it works with iPhone 4 to 5, but I just wanted to share this bit of information.
JCWillia1 has a great little walkthrough so just follow that. It works, I tested it myself a few days ago when I got my iPhone 4. (iPod Touch 4G transfered to iPhone 4)

-Will it work on a Mac? These instructions appear to be for a Windows system... not the smartest here, just verifying.
-Can you transfer the data from an iPhone 5 to an iPad 3/New iPad?
-Does it transfer ALL the chunks, blocks, items in chests, and animals? Is there anything it neglects to transfer?
-Does it transfer ALL your worlds or just a certain one? Again, not the expert here, these are just a few inquries I have.
Thanks!
-It will work on a mac.
-The data can be transferred between any two iOS devices.
-If done correctly, and all the files are correctly transferred, then the world should be identical to your old one.
-Each world is stored in a separate folder, but you can still move as many of them as you want from one device to another. You just have to move each of their folders.

All you need is the Desktop program iExplorer and transfer your maps through you iPhone to CP to New iPhone.
Alternately you could store your maps In Dropbox and download them like any map off the forums Hope I could Help!
If you want to copy data from iPhone to iPhone, just try mobile transfer tool. It can directly transfer data between mobile phones, such as contacts, messages, photos, apps and more.

Use iTunes to sync data, or use a data transfer tool to transfer data between iphones.
