We all know the xbox 360 world size is very small. For me, the feeling of freedom that came with the infinite world size of the PC minecraft created a lot of the appeal that's missing on the xbox 360 version. Worlds feel more limited and less meaningful / less long term committed.
I'd like to suggest a workaround that may recover some of that appeal. Basically, if players would be able to carry their inventory with them between worlds, they may feel connected - like one large world.
Even it this requires exiting a map, returning to the main menu and entering another one but keeping your inventory, I'd already be happy. Ideally however this would be combined with an easy way to teleport from one world to another in-game. It could be simply that touching the end of the map "magically" teleports you to another "island" aka world. Or there could be portals similar to nether portals built from a different material e.g. stone bricks that will be permanently connect to another existing world via the UI on entry. I'd be fine if multiplayer for this is handled as simple as possible, e.g. disconnect remote players and force reconnect or teleport all players to the new map together.
