My issue is that, from 1.21.6 onwards, Minecraft doesn't start. I opened the launcher after a months long break to check out the latest version to be met with a loading screen that gets stuck at around 5% and a crash report with Exit-Code -805306369
It's the same issue with every version after 1.21.5, which is the latest version that starts without any issues.
I've had the same issue before, this year if I remember correctly. Back then, I managed to fix the issue by simply launching minecraft with every version that came out since the last time I played, until I reached the newest version, which then started as well. However, that doesn't seem to work this time. No version after 1.21.5 seems to load at all upon trying to launch them.
Any ideas what the issue might be and what I could try?
Agree with the above, update video drivers in particular as a start. There's been rendering changes in recent versions so that might be a variable, but I thought that started in 1.21.5, so it's interesting if that works but 1.21.6 is where problems start.
That log doesn't seem to be the log from an attempt to run a game instance? It seems to imply the last attempt to start failed and is doing a fallback as a result, but there's nothing to discern from it otherwise.
Do you have any files starting with "hs_err_pid" (and followed by numbers) in the directory of the Minecraft profile?
If you're using mods, try vanilla.
You can also try to increase the amount of memory allocated to Java (the default is 2 GB, so try 3 GB or 4 GB), although the default amount should be enough.

I'm glad it's resolved. Can you clarify what you did in case others find this thread by searching because they have the same issue?
What was the update to? Was it an update to the game itself, your drivers, or did you update one of the performance mods you are using (and which one)?

Okay, there was actually a performance update, and that did the trick.
Thanks!
Yes, pls, update thi spost with your steps. I am having same issues here. Had it in the past (only 1.21.5 opened, the newer verson got frozen during statrup window (Mojang logo)) and i don't know how it got resolved but suddenly after ignoring the issue for some time i was able to start 1.21.9.
Now after update to 1.21.10 i am again only able to start *25 version and no later versions.
The crash report says "OpenJDK platform binary..." failed.
reading thru internet i had uninstalled Java pen JDK a instaled Azul Zulu instead hoping for the improvement but up to no avail. Also I have allowed 6GB RAm to be used which shall be more than enough.
The game is lagging from time to time, that's always been so but I managed to live with it, but startup issue is a serious one.
I would always try to use the bundled Java version if you are having issues while using a separate one.
Whenever you set up a new profile/version, I would recommend letting that version launch at least once with the bundled Java version. I've found that supplying your own Java version can work fine, but the first time it might fail. So I always let it use the defaults the first time and adjust it afterwards.
Certain game versions may also simply have issues with certain Java versions. You can rule this out by trying the bundled version of Java. If the issue still occurs, then Java is probably failing for some other reason because I would think the bundled Java version should be compatible with whatever game version they are included with.

OK, so after turning my PC into brick while updating the graphic (and all other as a bundle) drivers, followed by hours trying to restore it, i managed to get to some restore point from some time ago. surprisingly my previous update to Azul zulu is gone with Java being restored, and more surprisingly, with version 1.21.10 running.
I really don't know what caused / fixed it but for now I am at least happy i can start the game. We'll see what happens with new update
Well... it seems to be that time of the year once more...
So, it's the same old story again. I tried to start 1.21.10 and I get suck at a loading screen of 5%. Only difference now: my video driver has no new updates, so updating won't work this time. I already tried to add more RAM, to no avail.
The last time I played on that version was around 3 weeks ago. Everything went well back then. And now, once again, the latest version that doesn't get stuck at the loading screen is 1.21.5...
I guess I'll just download another Launcher -aside from the standard one- and try to load the version there. Because I'm out of ideas and having to deal with my game not loading every few months starts to get old now ^^'
Any suggestions for decent Launchers? Or maybe other things I could try to solve the problem?
You weren't clear on what the "performance update" was last time that fixed it, but something has to be regularly changing on your system to cause this to keep occurring.

I only know that I could update the video driver back then. I just clicked "update" and then everything worked again. But again, this time there's no new update for it.
I don't really change anything on a regular basis, though. The only things that update on their own are Windows and my Minecraft Launcher, so it can pretty much only have something to do with those two...
I'm wondering if Windows is updating your video drivers (and if it's AMD, updating Adrenalin but not the drivers, resulting in a mismatch between the two).
What video hardware do you have? I would suggest manually uninstalling any video drivers you have now, and manually reinstalling the latest version.

Same here again. Plus there's no driver to update this time. Also tried few Internet advices, yet, up to no avail.
i will try unistalling and reinstalling the graphic drivers and if that won't help, i'll try to put error log here...

So, I've tried it now. And pretty much nothing changed. I went through a couple of Intel drivers that were compatible, and also tried to completely reinstall Minecraft. The results are all the same. Version 1.21.5 and older still work, anything from 1.21.6 onwards gets stuck on the loading screen.
There was one time when I had a bit of hope: after increasing the RAM from 2 to 4 GB, it actually made it past the loading screen. However, the menu screen was heavily lagging and didn't even manage to display all the options properly (Singleplayer, Multiplayer etc.) before crashing. And now, I can't find a way to replicate those results, regardless of how much RAM I allocate to Minecraft. Can't find the crash log anymore either.
If anyone has any more ideas, please share. But I probably won't try them out before next weekend. I'm pretty tired at this point...
Are you using an OpenGL compatibility fallback, such as from the Microsoft store?
I know 1.21.5+ had some issues with some Intel integrated graphics and drivers, but I think they were resolved in subsequent versions. And I don't think the issue was crashing, just eventual corruption to the texture atlas.
The game shouldn't need 4 GB allocated just to launch, so the issue seems to be elsewhere.

Make a test with another Launcher like MultiMC or AT Launcher
>> Link to Curseforge <<
Thanks, I'll try that should no other suggestions work.
First, I want to see if the issue with my normal Minecraft Launcher can be solved, before downloading an entirely new Launcher.
Add the crash-report or latest.log (logs-folder) with sites like https://mclo.gs/ and paste the link here
>> Link to Curseforge <<
https://mclo.gs/VuZeEDz
Here you go. Not sure if much can be concluded from it, though...
Maybe a CPU/GPU driver issue - check for driver updates and test it again
If there is no change, add the new log or crash

If you're having performance concerns with Minecraft, I hope this may prove useful.
A retrospective of the most important game to me (or, a try to stay awake while I never stop talking about something challenge).

Very far from the best, but it has worked well enough so far. Anyway, I'll try reinstalling it this weekend and let you know if it did anything.
