Hi, its been around 5-6 months that i cant play minecraft no matter which versions i use because it uses a lot of memory, the only way where i can play the game is using some mods on fabric 1.16.5 like phosphor, sodium which is cool but i dont wanna get stuck on 1.16.5 ngl (and also i have a bad graphic card so i cant play above 1.16.5)
I have a bad computer (with intel core i5-2500k and 16gb RAM and i allocate around 4gb when playin minecraft) even tho before the memory problem i could play minecraft without any problems (like around 100-120fps) and the problem appeared from out of nowhere sooo yeah idk what to do
(on the image i'm using Lunar Client but it does the same on all minecraft versions from the minecraft launcher)
(edit: and also i forgot to say one thing, its permafreezing like the game is never responding/answering)
With 16 GB, your problem isn't one of memory because that's more than enough to run the game. Nothing in your screenshot indicates that you are running out of memory or that Minecraft is causing it. You aren't showing the more relevant information for me to assess that though. An uncropped image of the performance > memory tab would help tell this.
What's preventing you from running 1.17+ is because the integrated graphics in that CPU doesn't support the necessary OpenGL version the game now requires. With a supported graphics card, that hardware should play modern versions reasonably enough.
If older versions of Minecraft are causing your computer to run out of memory with 16 GB, then it could be some combination of...
1. You allocated a lot of memory.
2. You're running significant background applications (I see a browser, music application, and Discord combined using almost as much as the game).
3. You have a memory leak from something on your PC.
4. You restricted your page file.
Keep in mind the integrated graphics is going to use some of that memory too, since it doesn't have its own, which will add to the above.
But that's still plenty of memory to run the game with 4 GB allocated, even with background applications. So I'm presuming you're misreading things (such as seeing the 85%, not understanding it, and panicking?) or if it's actually running out, maybe something else is amiss.
If the page file was manually changed, an insufficient value can prevent access to all of your memory. This particularly shows up when the page file is disabled, but it also shows up with one where it isn't disabled but is set to too low/restrictive of a value for whatever workload you're running. But when this happens, you'll often see messages that your computer is low of memory (even if a lot of unused memory remains, because what you're running out of isn't physical memory, but rather free commit space as a result of the page file value acting as the quota manager of sorts). If you haven't seen such messages or if you haven't changed the page file settings, then you can ignore that fourth point.

Your current instance is using 735MB - so make a test with reducing the allocation from 4G to 2G

tried but its still the same thing
Same issue with another Launcher?

yep, same issue

hi, thanks for the advices but i didnt understand your fourth point, what do you mean by "you restricted your page file"?
