I recently downloaded Minecraft Java v2.4.104-1.2.17 for my HP Chromebook originally I was able to get into the game but it was just really slow and laggy and eventually crash. Linux is running it. I watched a video on how to fix a code 0 on a chromebook, and the problem sounded similar to mine so I thought I’d give that a try. After opening terminal and updating Java, I then went to installations in Minecraft and edited the latest release(1.20). I’ll link the video I used. This caused the game to not even open https://xender.vip/ . So after fixing that problem I’m back where I started with the game opening but resulting in a code 9. I’m not very good with technology but when trying to solve this I found out I might need to download Crouton? But I have no idea if that will also make the problem worse.
