I've been dealing with issues with Minecraft on my macbook on and off since I purchased it a year ago. The first issues I met were upon opening Minecraft, I would need to click the play button multiple times in order to get to my world list. When I would get into the world, I wasn't able to place anything. The only way i solved this issue was by restarting Minecraft until the mouse responded. Now the more recent problem I have encountered stems from the use of commands. Any time I try to use commands such as /clear or /fill x y z, nothing happens. When I try to drop blocks from my inventory, they disappear into thin air. When i try to save and quit to title, I only get a black screen which i can only get rid of by force quitting Minecraft. because of this, none of my world changes are saved. I have deleted and redownloaded Minecraft several times and have restarted my laptop more times than i can count. Is there something wrong with my laptop? Is there someone I can take my laptop to in person that that help me? Thank you very much in advance.
Yes, it seems to be strangely. Also if its of any use, the world in which im trying to use the commands and theyre not working is the cave one where you can select a biome for them.

Does it work on a newly created world?
