today, after some time, I decided to go back to my world where I was working on a build. It was adjusted flat world and I already spent days there working on the build.
Today I updated my Minecraft from 1.16.5 to the newest version 1.17.1. I waited for Optifine to update properly, because I use shaders when I build.
However when I opened the save in game (the 1.17.1 version with Optifine) the world was the way it was when I first loaded it. Everything I built was gone. I wouldn't care if it was world I barely played on, but this world had days in it and the build was halfway done.
Any idea what had happened? Any way how to get my build back?
I did not alter my MC in any way (beside the Optifine) and I had not tampered with the .minecraft folder. The save was in the saves folder all the time and I had not touched it or moved it. Game is original/bought/official. It's a Java version with Java account.
Hello everyone,

Thank you.
Restore the world from backup.
yea... such a simple thing - a backup
I suppose she had no one, because then she would not ask about how to get the builds back...
Let it be a warning to every other player: always have some backups of your work !!
Especially if it took you a long time what you have done
