Hey there everyone, I'm running a custom and relatively small modpack and I love it. But I'm noticing more and more that if I play for around 20 minutes or start exploring too much the game starts hitching hard, making it almost unplayable. I've included a log of this happening below, and would appreciate any help.
You need to allocate more memory; it is at 99%, which is why the game is lagging. It could also be due to a memory leak in a mod, especially if it starts out much lower on a freshly launched game; otherwise, modern Minecraft, especially modded, really needs to focus on optimizing memory usage but this is something the developers need to do (my own heavily modded 1.6.4 instance runs fine for hours with only 512 MB allocated with no difference in memory usage from vanilla). If you only have 8 GB of system RAM you should not allocate more and will either need to use optimization mods, such as Sodium (if you are using Fabric) or remove some mods (note that Optifine will not help in this case as it was not designed to reduce memory usage).
