I recently decided to allocate more ram to my game. As usual i changed the amount of -Xmx#G in the settings for that specfic installation. After this i saved and booted up the game, there seeemed to be no issue.
When i came back later to check the settings, the JVM arguments had been reset to the default 2G instead of the 4G i changed it to. I have 8 GB ram total, so there shouldn't be an issue with that.
I can't seem to find a solution to this, and if some of you were going to suggest it, no, there is nothing in my Enviroment Variables that could cause this issue.
I am currently using the default minecraft launcher from mojang.
Figured out a solution to this bug. Adjust the JVM arguments as desired, click save, then close the Minecraft Launcher. reopening the launcher and your JVM arguments will be saved, and will not revert back to the default
