I am unable to connect to the Minecraft.net webpage. When i click login I am prompted with a captcha which I fill and then it sits on the login page. This occurs both with my new account (I was trying to buy a second account) and my old.
Now where the problem begins. I notice that others that have had this problem have gone to the site MCleaks before. I will admit this now. I did try to use this site in a VirtualMachine using the program Virtualbox on my computer. Furthermore, I have seen that people normally fix this issue by removing 2 lines.
from there hosts file. However I did not see these files on my personal computer, and since deleted the Virtual Machine that was running MCLeaks. I have changed my minecraft password using my laptop (if it matters it was on the same network). Was accessing this the reason to my issue? or am i simply over reacting? Again, I know i messed up trying to use this sketchy site. But I felt overly safe by having it contained in a VM. Any input or fixes to the matter are greatly appreciated.
Forgot to mention, at this point in time i have been logged out from my account on my computer (was this due to password reset?) and cannot login on my laptop using either my old or new password (Not risking logging in on computer until i know it is safe to do so.)
Could you please post a HijackThis log here? HiJackThis is a program that will show us a basic overview of programs running on your computer, including any HOST file modifications. While it does sound scary, it does not give us any personal or sensitive information.
Run HijackThis as Administrator, choose "I accept", then "Do a system scan and save a log file". After a while, a text file will open. Copy everything, put the log on https://paste.ubuntu.com and give us the link.
It did however provide this error https://imgur.com/a/XHdOZSq saying it ccould not write to the host file. So i included a paste of the full host file afterwords as well.
